Elegy for an antique store

I'm saddened to announce the demise of our antique store. It, and all the wonderful stuff inside, burned to the ground. We are left in this area with one seasonal antique store, which is only open for about three months of the year and an antique store which is in the process of closing down. Thankfully there is still Ebay.

I know my comrades in blogland will understand the sorrow I am feeling. I think I need to seek some garage sale therapy today.

I'm so sorry to hear that -- and to think of the owners loss of business and all of the wonderful treasures inside that are now gone forever. History lost!

So many wonderful shops are closing due to this very difficult economy. It is so sad. Even GW is getting to be expensive. I guess there's hard times for everyone. Your previous post is wonderful I love all of the fabulous china you showed. I am a dish nut also, and have way too much. Thanks also for your visits and your most gracious comments. Hugs, Marty

I'm so sorry to hear about the antique store. That's just awful and I feel so badly for the owners as well. Times are really tough for everyone right now. I do agree with you -- thank goodness for e-bay.

Hugs,

Oh...that would make me very sad indeed. We all need an outlet and to have them disapear around us is very disheartening. I need to hit a few tag sales myself!

That is just terrible!! We have antique stores here, but they are way overpriced. Because the few thrift stores are not all that great, I'm left with ebay too! Thanks for stopping by!!
