Easter Dinner 2011

We went to my parents' house for dinner this year, like most years. The difference this year is that I tried to take pictures for this blog. I've discovered how difficult it is to document (in artistic pictures) a family dinner. But, I will share what I did manage to capture.

I did most of the table setting, with my husband lending a very welcome hand. We used my mother's set "Petit Point" by Royal Albert and her silverplate "Lady Stuart". I brought my cranberry tablecloth and vintage linen napkins.

My mother couldn't find her Easter decorations, they've been put away where they can't be found. So we improvised with dishes of brightly wrapped chocolate eggs and flowers.

It was a lovely meal. My mother is very good in the cooking area, and the rest of us excel at eating. :)  I apologize for how few pictures I took but there really wasn't much time.

Stumbled across your blog today at Marty's Tabletop Tuesday Party. I have read every post. I must say I am truly jealous of your china and silver collection. You have such wonderful pieces and I love the way you display them. I am not really a collector of anything, but I am starting to really appreciate fine china and silver and have picked up a few things here and there. I could really use your stash of beautiful pieces right now as I am in the process of decorating for a Mother-Daughter banquet "tea party" at church this weekend, lol. All joking aside, I have had so much fun thrifting for teapots, cups, saucers and linens. I think this is the funnest "theme party" I have had the privilege of decorating for, and the best part is I get to keep all my finds when I'm done.

As far as blogging, you are doing an excellent job. I also just started earlier this year and am not a great photographer either, but I am getting better. Lots of practice and a bazillion shots (so you can pick out the best ones)is key. The only advantage I guess I have is that I am very computer savvy and I have used photobucket.com to enhance my pictures. You should try it out. It's easy and there are so many things you can do to one little picture.

Anyway, I am now your newest follower. Happy blogging!
